How to Prepare Yogi Tea
Yogi tea is made of water, black tea, yogi spices and milk (optional).
It is recommended to add a little bit of whole milk, since milk fat increases its density. You can use any type of milk.
You can also make it sweet. This beverage is very popular in India and is drank regularly instead of coffee.
It is better to make it sweet by using natural sweeteners such as honey, agave syrup or stevia.
If you are lactose intolerant, it is recommended to add rice or almond milk. Soya milk is not recommended since it destroys the original flavor of yogi tea.
Yogi tea can be made in several ways.
One way to prepare it is to add milk and water in equal proportions, for example one cup of water and one cup of milk.
Put two spoons of black tea into water and leave it to boil. Then add a cup of milk and leave it to boil for the second time. Remove it and filter the tea.
You may put yogi spices immediately after you have boiled it for the first time, or after you have added the milk, depending on the aroma you want to accomplish.
If you prefer more intensive flavor and aroma, boil the tea a little bit longer. After you have boiled the tea for the second time, lover the heat and leave it to boil but no more than few minutes.
The other way you can prepare yogi tea is to immediately mix water with milk and leave it to boil. Then add black tea and spices and leave it on low heat no more than 5 minutes.
During preparation mix the tea the whole time for it to get a creamy texture, as Indian people recommend.
The longer you melt the spices, the tea will have a stronger taste.
