Do you want to preserve and enhance your health?

You need stronger immunity, more energy and vitality?

You are trying to get rid of digestive problems?

If you suffer from such problems, kombucha is the answer for you.

Kombucha is a mushroom that is used for making fermented potion that can be consumed every day without worry.

Kombucha is originally from Asia and it was brought to Germany via Russia.

From Germany, it spread around the world and has made millions of fans.

Since ancient times people speak of its healing properties. Ancient books mention kombucha tea as a remedy against many diseases, ranging from banal to the serious illnesses.

Mushroom is kept in a nutritive solution of tea and sugar in which it can continuously propagate via germination.

You can easily grow your own kombucha and with proper use it will become your loyal companion through life.

Although considered as a remedy, this potion can be consumed as a refreshing drink even when you are healthy. Do not miss a chance to share it with your friends.

Kombucha’s top seven healing properties

1. Enhances digestion and cures constipation

Kombucha is a natural probiotic that harmonizes intestinal flora by keeping beneficial and excreting harmful compounds.

It suppresses the growth of harmful bacteria and strengthens immunity. After consuming kombucha, drink an equal amount of water, which will additionally enhance digestion.

2. Enhances weight-loss

This is why Hollywood stars "went crazy” for kombucha. Since it enhances absorption of food and enhances digestion, it helps with weight-loss.

Many people use kombucha as a substitution for juices and coffee, which reduces calorie intake. The weight-loss effect only works for obese people. It is recorded that kombucha can enhance weight-gain of thin people.

3. Increases energy level

It is considered that kombucha gives energy because it contains valuable vitamins and minerals, but also because it regenerates the liver. If you drink it after exercise or stress, it will revitalize your organism naturally.

4. Cleans the liver

Kombucha contains gluconic acid that cleans the liver of heavy metals and toxins. In organism, this acid is converted into a powerful antifungal substance – caprylic acid which is recommended by nutritionists for Candida treatment.

Kombucha’s benefits for the liver are even enhanced if you combine it with milk thistle.

5. Strengthens the immunity

Better digestion, cleaner liver and stress relief make our immunity stronger.

Our resistance to viral and bacterial illnesses is enhanced. Kombucha helps even people suffering from AIDS, and most recent studies confirm its positive effect on cancer prevention.

6. Makes our skin look younger and cures eczemas

For skin care, you do not have to drink kombucha only, you can apply it locally. When kombucha is applied to the skin, it has an effect that is similar to astringents and it balances oily skin.

Kombucha tea wraps can help to people suffering from eczema.

7. Preserves the hair health

There are many testimonies according to which kombucha can stimulate hair growth and regeneration and prevents gray hair.

Rinsing your hair with kombucha tea is more effective than expensive treatments in hair salons.

Besides the aforementioned properties, kombucha also helps with:

  • atherosclerosis
  • dizziness
  • dementia
  • gout and rheum
  • hemorrhoids
  • diabetes

Kombucha preparation

You need two liters of green, black or any other herbal tea. Add two teaspoons of tea on every 1 liter of freshly boiled water.

Add between 70 and 100 g of white or brown sugar on every 1 liter of hot tea. This culture cannot survive without sugar.

Cool the tea to 20-25 degrees Celsius (high temperatures can kill the mushroom).

When the tea is cooled, pour it into any sort of glass, ceramic, clay or wooden container. It is important that the container is not made of metal, PCV or polystyrene.

Put a live kombucha culture in the fluid.

If you are making kombucha potion for the first time, add the liquid you got with the culture to the tea.

Keep enough of kombucha potion for all future potion preparations, to add about 10% of the kombucha potion into a new batch as a "starting liquid".

Close the container with a light cloth and use rubber bands to seal the edges so that fruit flies do not enter the container.

Fermentation should last between 8 and 12 days, depending on the temperature. The higher the room temperature is, the faster is the fermentation.

Kombucha culture requires a warm and quiet place and is not to be moved at any point.

Tea temperature should not drop below 20 degrees Celsius or rise above 30 degrees Celsius, and ideal temperature is between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius.

Culture thrives in partial shadow or in complete darkness.

At the beginning of fermentation, the potion is sweet and it gradually turns sour. If you like sweet drinks discontinue fermentation earlier.

Taste of finished potion is between apple carbonated juice and champagne, depending on the tea you used.

When the tea reaches desired level of acidity (pH value between 2.7 and 3.2), take out the culture using clean hands and wash the culture in cold water. Pour new tea into the container and place the mushroom back in it.

Pour fermented potion into a glass container without filtrating it. Save 10% of potion for making new culture. Close all containers tightly.

In order to achieve full satisfaction with the tea, leave it to mature for at least five more days after pouring it into glass containers.

Such potion can be stored for months. Drink 0.1 liter of the tea three times a day - on the empty stomach in the morning, after lunch and before going to the bed.

When you start a new fermentation process, do not forget to add at least 10% of already fermented potion into a new tea.

Each new fermentation of kombucha creates a new layer on the surface of the liquid. You can leave that layer or separate it.

That layer gives you additional cultures that can be stored in a small amount of sweet tea in your fridge in the case something happens to your active culture.

Possible side effects of kombucha tea

At the beginning of kombucha tea consumption, you could feel slightly worse due to the detoxification process.

The reason for that feeling is not kombucha, but the toxins that are being ejected from your body. So it is advisable to drink smaller amounts of the tea in the beginning.

In a case of any additional side effects, decrease tea intake and after your symptoms disappear you can increase the intake again.

Stronger side effects indicate that you need additional organism detoxification.

Where to find kombucha

You can get kombucha from a person that already has it. I am sure that at least some of you already use this mushroom. Share it with others via comments!
