glazba Since the ancient time people used music as a powerful tool for treating mental and physical problems and for achieving general harmony.

Pythagoras claimed, as early as the end of the 6th century BC, that everything in the universe is subject to the laws of harmony.

According to his belief, Pythagoras has advocated the usage of music in treatment.

Our body is a musical instrument

In modern times it is known that every cell in our body vibrates with a certain frequency.

Simply said, our whole organism produces a certain melody.

If that melody is harmonious, we are healthy, and if it is not, we are not healthy.

This is where the biggest potential for music treatment lies.

We can look at our organism as an instrument that needs to be finely tuned, like a finely tuned piano or a guitar.

How can we do it? It is easy, because our brain waves obediently react to every frequency they receive.

Since the sound is vibration, it will affect all parts of our being, including physical, emotional and spiritual level.

That way we can use music for the target treatment of various diseases and problems, but also use it for enhancing creativity or reducing stress levels.

Generally, music has a beneficial influence on immune system strengthening and recovery after serious illness.

If you consider that listening to music enhances endorphin excretion, a chemical compound known as “hormone for happiness” and a hormone that makes us feel better and efficiently removes pain, that is not surprising.

Meet “doctor” Mozart

With interesting facts regarding music, it is good to mention “Mozart effect”. That is a term used for describing various positive effects of Mozart’s genius compositions on our mind.

In the past twenty years, an increasing number of eminent scientists have confirmed in their experiments that Mozart’s music synchronizes right and left hemispheres of our brain.

That way it enhances creativity and motivation and enhances concentration and thinking abilities.

So, music composed by a Salzburg wunderkind is not just pleasant to our ears and protects us against negative influences of stress, but it also has beneficent effects on our learning, expressive clarity and our ability of making intuitive conclusions.

Researches conducted on laboratory animals have proved that rodents exposed to Mozart’s music can find the way out of the labyrinth more quickly and easily when compared with rodents that have done the same task in silence or while being exposed to some other music or some form of noise.

The most interesting of all, rodents that have been listening to Mozart’s music in the womb have shown higher intelligence and were more resourceful when compared to rodents that were deprived of such privilege.

Such funding can surely be put into use with human population too, so future mothers will surely not do wrong if they listen to Mozart's sonatas during pregnancy.

Plants love music too

Music, especially classical music, has a beneficent influence on animal and plant life. It has been confirmed that plants grow faster if they are exposed to music and cows produce more milk.

In 2001, winemaker Carlo Cignozzi from Tuscany used music as a form of ecological protection of his grape vines against parasites.

He placed a sound system in his enormous vineyard and started playing classical music. He noticed that grapes ripped faster and it was generally healthier.

In connection to that, in 2006 a group of experts from the Faculty of Agriculture in Florence conducted an independent research in which they officially confirmed Cignozzi’s claims.

If you want to see for yourself will your garden or house plants grow faster and better with the help of music, you have to consider your repertoire carefully.

It seems that plants do not like pop, rock and heavy metal, but they like classical music, jazz and traditional Indian music, while they are completely indifferent towards country music.

We have to mention ancient methods that were used in music treatments, such as treatment using gong sounds or sound vibrations of Tibetan singing bowls.

Both instruments create vibrations that have a beneficial influence on the body and mind, placing them in original harmony.

In such way we can remove various physical and mental blockages, remove pain, stress, fears and create positive feelings.

Even more than that, their vibrations will clean the area we live in from negative energies and entities.

Bells call for a smile

For the end, we should mention cute, cheap and easily accessible object that is very desirable in your living spaces.

Those are Chinese bells – hanging objects made of bamboo, metal pipes, shells and such materials – that create a pleasant sound as the air passes through them.

It is highly recommended to keep them an home, garden or in work space because gentle tones they randomly create are great for alleviating stress and reducing anxiety and they create an overall sensation of peace and pleasure.

Furthermore, it is believed that their sound removes negative energies from our living spaces. We do not doubt that, since it is impossible not to smile when you hear them.
