Foods which are considered "super" significantly outperform others with their great nutritive values and quantity of antioxidants. 

Ginger and turmeric excel in these properties, and when you combine them with carrot, there's no end to health benefits their bring.  

Recent studies have shown people who eat these foods within a single meal become resilient to heart disease, cancer, diabetes and various inflammatory conditions.  


Powerful joint action of ginger and turmeric


Ginger and turmeric belong to the same family of plants called Zingiberaceae. Both spices have always been used in cuisine, but also for alleviating many illnesses.  

Their benefits are particularly powerful if you use them together, for instance in tea. 

Turmeric is a tropical and subtropical spicy root known for its distinctive yellow colour. 

It is used to make curry, a spice which gives Chinese and Indian dishes decidedly hot taste, and its most important and most beneficial ingredient is curcumin. 

It is estimated that this ingredient brings 150 health benefits, which include stronger immunity and relief from symptoms of autoimmune diseases.  

Since turmeric is slowly absorbed by the organism, it is recommended to accelerate its action by taking it with tea or with coconut or flax oil.  

It is important to emphasize that you will not pay too much in the shops for these superhealthy foods even if they are organically grown.

Benefits of turmeric

  1. Prevents and slows down Alzheimer's disease. It slows down the process of neural degradation and the onset of dementia.

    A study has showed that the condition of patients who took turmeric powder for 12 weeks was greatly improved. 
     
  2. Protects cardiac health. A japanese study has found curcumin protects heart as much as a moderate aerobic exercise.  
     
  3. Alleviates pain in the joints and reduces the sensation of stiffness caused by arthritis. 
     
  4. Acts against infections. Due to its antimicrobial properties it prevents infections.  
     
  5. Alleviates epilepsy. Scientists have found turmeric has neuroprotective properties. 


Benefits of ginger

  1. Destroys cancer cells. Research has found that ginger has a stronger anticancer activity than chemotherapy. It does not kill healthy, but only cancer cells.  
     
  2. Alleviates arthritis. If you have painful joints it is best to drink ginger tea or add  grated ginger to dishes.  
     
  3. Reduces nausea. Apart from relieving morning sickness and sea sickness, it helps patients recovering from chemotherapy.  
     
  4. Helps with diabetes. Only 2 g of ginger powder slows down the increase of blood glucose by 12%.
     
  5. Boosts memory. It stimulates concentration and cognitive processes.  


Benefits of carrot

  1. Acts against free radicals. Carrot contains plenty of antioxidants which curb the activity of free radicals.  
     
  2. Prevents heart disease. Patients who ate this orange vegetable had a 32% reduction in symptoms.
     
  3. Reduces the risk of cancer and tumours. Phytonutrients in carrot prevent inflammatory conditions and development of tumour cells.  
     
  4. Protects health of digestive organs. A regular carrot intake prevents the growth of stomach ulcer and indigestion. 
     
  5. Improves vision. The body converts beta-carotene in carrot into vitamin A, which is very important for healthy eyes and vision. This ingredient powerfully protects from cataract and macular degeneration.  


Recipes


Ginger and turmeric tea


Add a teaspoon of grated ginger and a spoonful of grated turmeric into a cup of boiling water.  

If you use them in dry form, use a third of a spoonful of each of these spices. 

Drink several times a day for good health or as needed if you suffer from any problem against which these spices are helpful.  


A super-side dish from carrot, ginger and turmeric


Cook several pieces of carrot in the water until it softens up.  

Then add several teaspoons of coconut oil, a little salt and a half teaspoon of grated ginger and turmeric each (or half that quantity if you use them as powders).  

Stir everything lightly and serve as a side dish to the main course.
