Companies that produce GMOs are among the most powerful in the world.
They are backed by powerful politicians, even the presidents.
But look and behold, the most powerful people in the world do not buy their own products, at least not for their own consumption.
Judging from the data collected around the world, the contrast between dietary practices of the powerful and their favoring of the spread of unhealthy food cannot be greater.
They eat one thing, and promote the other
Family of the US president Barack Obama has maintained cordial relations with the biotechnology industry, but they only eat organic food.
Michelle Obama during the election campaign in 2008 boasted that her whole family made a change and started eating organic products only.
They even have their own organic garden; and Obama family and their distinguished guests in the White House eat food produced in that organic garden.
However, during his presidency, Barack Obama has passed a multitude of laws in favor of GMOs.
Obama's rival in last year's elections, republican Mitt Romney, has been collaborating with Monsanto for more than three decades, but still stays away from GM foods.
He and his wife Ann eat only organic food. The White House chef who worked during the Bush and Clinton administrations also confirmed that both families ate only organic foods.
And the royal family prefers organic and natural foods and requires its chefs to purchase uncontaminated food from local producers.
Chinese rulers obtain food from a walled garden used for the production of organic food.
At the same time, the masses in the US, China, and now in Europe consume food "spiced" with GMO ingredients, pesticides, steroids and other unwanted substances.
Obama "carefully" selects his staff
Why is GMO sweeping the world with the lightning speed?
See for yourself who put Obama at the head of the USA.
He appointed Michael Taylor, former Monsanto Vice President for Corporate Policy, as deputy commissioner for food safety at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
He appointed Roger Beachy, another former bigwig at Monsanto, as director of the state Department of Agriculture (USDA).
He promoted Thomas Vilsack, the creator of Governor Partnership for Biotechnology, to the USDA Commissioner.
Through this association the governors of the states "educate the public about the progress in the development of genetic engineering," and call for "understanding" for the industry.
GMOs are not served even in Monsato company itself
You might think that Monsanto employees are happy to eat GMO foods. But it is not so.
It is prohibited to serve GMO food in Monsato cafeteria.
This decision was justified by their desire to make "employees feel more secure with the food they eat."
Monsanto spokesman Tony Coombes explained that the measure was introduced because the leadership of the company "believes in choice."
The average citizen in the U.S. has no choice, because GM ingredients are not listed on the labels.
They can, however, buy organic food, but most of the people can not afford it.
Organic gardens behind the spiked fence
Political elites in China enjoy the healthiest foods - organic crops, rice reared without pesticides, tea from untouched cliffs of Tibet, milk from grass-fed cows that live on the pastures away from the industrial zone.
In Beijing there is an organic farm surrounded by an 180 cm high fence with spikes and security guards at the entrance.
Food produced in that garden is strictly reserved for only the highest members of the Party.
Ordinary citizens are left with food filled with pesticides, industrial chemicals and GM ingredients.
The care of the safety of food for the people in China is at a very low level, and there have been reports of illnesses and deaths of children caused by contaminated baby milk, as well as cases of blindness caused by toxic alcohol.
