madrac I believe that there is not man in the world that does not like a good night’s sleep.

Sleeping is both human need and enjoyment.

Without the good sleep, our body cannot function normally.

The impact of sleep on our health is priceless.

A good night's sleep improves productivity, attention and memory, strengthens the immune system, activates cell regeneration, protects against stress, encourages creativity, beauty and longevity.

The quality of sleep depends on many factors, one of which is a good mattress.

When I say "good mattress," I do not mean any particular mattress of a particular manufacturer. Because, as we all are individuals, the mattress has to be chosen according to your specific needs.

Selection of mattresses on the market is vast and varied, which can be confusing when you are choosing a new one.

This short guide will help you choose the best mattress for a good rest.

Mattresses with springs

This is the oldest and by far the most popular type of mattress in the world. Most people are still sleeping on mattresses with springs.

However, alternative doctors were concerned about the use of metal springs that can have a negative impact on health.

It is assumed that the metal springs prevent the normal flow of energy, and can act as an antenna, attracting and increasing electromagnetic radiation, which can have long-term negative effects on health.

Advantages:

  • provide optimal support to every part of the body
  • long-lasting
  • good ventilation
  • comfort
  • affordable price

Disadvantages:

  • the potential risk to health
  • not resistant to dust mites, fungi and insects

Memory foam mattress

Memory foam mattresses are currently the second most popular type of mattress in the world.

They are made of polyurethane foam, which is characterized by elasticity, softness and anti-allergic properties.

There are also mattresses made of cold cast foam. They are also made of polyurethane, but the procedure is special and without additives harmful chemicals.

Advantages:

  • ideally adaptable to body shape
  • well-distributed weight of the body
  • reduce the pressure on the spine
  • resistant to insects, fungi and mites
  • affordable price

Disadvantages:

  • not as long as latex or mattresses with springs
  • not as good ventilation
  • have the effect of "warming"
  • memory foam is not a natural material
  • if you suffer from hot flashes, these mattresses are not for you

Mattresses made of latex

Latex is soft and fine foam produced from the milk of Indian rubber trees. Latex mattresses have gained popularity thanks to its high elasticity, outstanding durability and excellent hygienic properties.

There is also synthetic latex, and some types of mattresses are made of a mixture of natural and synthetic latex. Therefore, if you want a mattress made of 100% natural materials, check with the manufacturer if the mattress is made from natural material only or from a mixture of latex.

There are two processing technologies for latex - Talalay and Dunlop. Talalay is somewhat softer and more elastic than Dunlop, while Dunlop latex is ideal if you prefer a firmer mattress, which provides good support.

 Advantages:

  • evenly distributes the weight of the body
  • provides optimum support and comfort
  • latex is a natural material
  • prevents the growth of fungi, dust mites and bacteria
  • regulates air and moisture well
  • incredibly long-lasting

Disadvantages:

  • high cost

Gel Mattress

The mattress with gel have appeared on the market relatively recently.

Gel was developed primarily for use in hospitals because it extremely flexible, sterile, elastic and can adsorb the pressure.

Gel provides the body with good support, but it is also incredibly soft. This material relieves painful back even better than latex or memory foam.

The mattress can not consist only of gel, which is why the gel is usually combined with springs or memory foam.

If you suffer from neck pains or back pains, gel mattresses are a great choice for you.

Advantages:

  • antibacterial and antiseptic properties
  • formed by the body of the sleeper
  • well-distributed weight of the body
  • relieves the spine
  • especially suitable for people with neck, lower back and spine pain
  • long-lasting

Disadvantages:

  • high cost
  • a strange feeling during sleeping to which takes time to get used to
  • some kinds of gel are quite hard, the mattress may be too firm

Combined mattresses

Today it is difficult to find a mattress that uses only one type of material. Most mattresses are made of several types of materials.

For example, a mattress can have a core of gel and a few extra layers of memory foam.

Mattresses made of latex often have only latex core, and the rest of the mattress is made of memory foam.

It is important to know in advance which material you want in the mattress and be persistent to find a mattress that you want.

Multi zone mattresses

Mattresses can have 3, 5, 7 or more zones.

The idea of zoning mattresses is based on the anatomy of the human body that is not in every part equal.

Zone of mattresses is designed in such a way that the whole body gets comfortable support, and that spine has appropriate anatomical support.

Multi zone mattresses provide extra comfort, better fit and good support to the body.

Tips for choosing a mattress

  • If you are aware of the harmful effects of electromagnetic radiation, avoid mattresses with springs that can have a negative impact on health.
  • If you have extreme pain in the spine, neck or back, select a mattress with gel. However, mattresses made of latex and memory foam may also be good for getting rid of back pains at more affordable price.
  • If you love natural materials and can spend large amounts of money, choose a latex mattress.
  • Memory foam mattresses provide optimal price-quality ratio.
  • If you suffer from allergies, you should choose latex, memory foam or gel mattresses.

Test the mattress!

Mattresses are not exhibited in stores just for you to watch them. They are there to be tested.

Lay on the mattress and try it in all positions you sleep in. Testing time for each mattress should be at least 15 minutes.

A good mattress will ensure a good night's sleep, which is so important for your health. So if you are looking for a new mattress, spend a little more time and money – it will be worth it.
