Fasting can bring many benefits to your body - both physical and psychological.
With good reason, it is called the "miracle treatment" because the list of physical conditions that can be improved with fasting is long and varied.
On the list we find allergies, arthritis, digestive disorders, skin diseases, cardiovascular disease, asthma, cancer, etc.
Fasting stimulates the body's own healing mechanisms and leads to an improvement no matter what disease you are suffering from.
How fasting helps
Fasting will relax your digestive system, enable cleaning and detoxification of the body and lead to a feeling of lightness and increased energy levels.
Fasting is an excellent antidote to all of our "harmful" pleasures. There is nothing wrong with enjoying the food we eat, but the long-term consumption of excess food creates a great burden for the body.
During fasting, our system is resting from the constant food attacks.
You save energy during fasting and organism diverts that energy to treatment and recovery.
This energy releases your cells from toxins, regenerates tissues and organs, and removes the natural metabolic waste products that are created even by healthy cells.
Do not think that fasting itself is a remedy. Fasting actually creates favorable conditions for self-healing.
Our body knows how to cure itself, and all we have to do is to not interfere with that ability our body naturally has.
The beginning of fasting is never easy and you will probably feel many side effects of detoxification.
However, you will soon have the feeling that you are lighter and have more energy. You will be overtaken by greater enthusiasm, and you will need less sleep than usual to feel fresh.
Some of the benefits of fasting include:
- greater resistance to disease
- more substantial dream
- clearer skin
- detoxification of the body
- enhanced senses
- more energy
- reduced allergy reactions
- rejuvenation
- rest for the digestive organs
- weight loss
- improvement in the case of many diseases.
There are numerous types of fasting, but it is best to start with some simple and short-term fasting.
Even a short fasting will give your body, digestive system and organism a chance to rest for a while.
All types of fasting have something good to offer, and your choice will depend on your lifestyle, health problems and goals.
Types of fasting
Dry fasting
Dry fasting is the most extreme of all posts. When dry fasting, you are not allowed to intake any food or water for a short time period (usually one day).
Fluid post
As the name suggests, during this fasting you are only allowed to intake fluids. Water fasting is the easiest and probably the oldest type of fluid fasting.
This fasting gives your body therapeutic benefits in a short period of time because it accelerates the detoxification process.
This fasting type also included increasingly popular vegetable juice fasting.
Partial post
This post includes solid foods.
This includes different diets for detoxification or mono-diets like fasting with rice.
Which type to begin with?
It is best to start with a one-day fast with juice or fruit.
Fasting on juices is a great way to detox and improve your health and vitality.
Fresh organic juices will help your body to expel all of the bad substances from the body.
This post provides your body with quality nutrients that the body can use for rebuilding.
You can also use fruit and vegetable juices, but do not mix them.
Avoid soft drinks in bottles or cartons. If possible, use only fresh, organic and local foods.

Tips for juice fasting
Drink three to five cups of diluted juice daily.
If you have any abdominal pain, dilute juice as much as possible or gurgle it in the mouth before swallowing so to mix the juice with your saliva.
Apart from juices, drink at least two liters of water a day. You can add squeezed lemon to the water. You can also drink one or two cups of herbal tea.
Fresh juice should be consumed immediately, but not too fast. Slowly drink juice and treat it like real food.
You can take the juice with a spoon; it will help you to drink it slowly.
Before and after fasting
Prepare yourselves for fasting by eating smaller meals and light food several days before fasting.
While fasting, do not exercise much. Light exercise is good and is even recommended, but leave harder work for another time.
Walking and yoga are appropriate during fasting.
Do not forget to take a lot of rest - whenever you feel the need to sleep, nap a little.
Breaking the fast should be easy as starting it.
Slowly introduce "normal food” to your menu. For starters, you can eat some vegetable soup or have a bit of fruit.
After fasting, do not go back to old habits. Try to eat only what is best for your body!
If you are sick, consult a physician before starting fasting.
