Victoria Boutenko is a known researcher and author of books on the benefits of live, thermally unprocessed foods for health.
Difficult health condition of her family led her to start her research work.
In fact, her husband was suffering from thyroid disease and severe arthritis; her daughter suffered from asthma and her son from type 1 diabetes.
Victoria herself was overweight and had cardiac arrhythmia.
Driven by a desire for healing diseases and ailments that plagued her and members of her family for years, Victoria Boutenko has embarked on trying different treatments.
After a series of unsuccessful attempts she opted for a radical change in diet and switching exclusively to raw food.
This approach quickly bore fruit.
Rapid disappearance of all health problems after a few weeks
Boutenko family felt much better and problems that had bothered them became much smaller.
In the first year of transition to raw foods, Victoria lost 50 kilograms, and her arrhythmia disappeared.
Eventually, her husband's problems with the thyroid disappeared, her son reduced insulin doses and gradually ceased to show symptoms of diabetes, while her daughter no longer had asthma attacks.
Discovery of green smoothie
However, after seven years of eating raw foods, Boutenko began to feel certain problems.
Their health condition ceased to improve, and even began to deteriorate.
They began to feel as if they "had reached a plateau where the healing process stopped and even went a little backwards."
Victoria suffered from heaviness in the stomach after meals; her eyesight weakened and she again began to gain weight. Her husband started developing gray hairs.
These are not major problems, but it seemed that something was wrong.
Victoria decided to deal with the mystery of the strange side effects.
By studying the eating habits of chimpanzees - animals with which we share 99.4% of genes – she revealed that their menu consists mainly of fruits and greens.
She wondered if people would be healthier if their nutrition was the same.
It was a big hit. All complaints Boutenko family had disappeared after they turned to green food.
It should be noted that Victoria does not talk about green root vegetables, but leafy vegetables, including young leaves of plants and leaves of herbs.
What is the secret
Victoria found that green leafy vegetables contain all the nutrients needed to humans.
Apart from the fact that such food is not destroyed by processing and preserving, it can hide valuable ingredients such as chlorophyll, plant fiber, enzymes, amino acids, proteins, vitamins and minerals.
For example, chlorophyll itself is particularly useful for all kinds of chronic diseases as well as for strengthening the immune system and for detoxification.
For this reason, it is logical that it is best to take the fresh green leaves of spinach, chard, kale, nettles, dandelion greens, lamb's lettuce, spring barley, wheat etc., rather than use the supplements available on the market.
The next problem that Boutenko faced was how to eat and digest a sufficient amount of green food, and how to use vitamin B12 trapped in the cells.
In order to succeed, the food should be thoroughly chewed, which is time consuming and not particularly tasty process that will not attract people to this kind of diet.
In order to solve this problem Boutenko decided to use the blender.
That is how her world-famous green smoothies came into the existence.
The benefits of green smoothies
Drinking a green smoothie is the easiest and most effective known way to introduce plenty of fruits and green leafy vegetables in your diet.
So you enrich your diet with valuable ingredients, either for the purpose of treatment or preventive maintenance of optimal health.
Daily consumption of green smoothie will help start the body's natural healing mechanisms, primarily cleaning the body from cholesterol and toxins.
According to the experience of Boutenko and numerous testimonies of people who have tried these methods, within a month of drinking green mushy juice in the morning on an empty stomach your psychological and physical health will dramatically improve.
Not only for lovers of raw food
Even if you are not a fan of raw food, you will certainly like green smoothies because they are filling and very tasty.
In addition, they regulate blood sugar levels, accelerate metabolism, increase energy and concentration, and relieve chronic fatigue, lethargy and insomnia.
Besides being delicious and easy to prepare, green smoothies contribute to beauty.
Green smoothies reduce weight, embelish the appearance of the skin, hair and nails and remove cellulite.
Preparation of green juice
To prepare green smoothie you only need a blender and a handful of green leafy vegetables and fruits of your choice.
You do not need an expensive blender like the Vitamix, you only need a fairly good blender or a food processor (not hand blender!) with a minimum power of 1000 W.
There are different instructions on the method of preparation and appliances that are being used, but it is important to start engaging in this endeavor and strive to persevere in it.
