For many of us morning means getting up early, rushing to work, getting children ready for school or nursery and similar “problems”.

With all this, we have to make something for breakfast. We need something light, tasty and - if possible - healthy.

With the lack of time it is almost impossible. Luckily for several thousand people in the world, this problem has already been solved.

For breakfast drink a delicious smoothie made of green leafy vegetables and fruits. This drink is usually called green smoothie or green pulpy juice.

Green pulpy juice is light and healthy. All members of your family will like it, and you can make it in just 5 minutes.


Green pulpy juice - what is that?


Victoria Boutenko, author of "Green Health" believes that green leafy vegetables are the perfect food for humans.

Green vegetables are full of vitamins, minerals, fibers, chlorophyll and amino acids, which are the basic building blocks of protein. That's all we need for health.

But eating raw vegetables is not so easy. In order to reach its valuable components, we must chew it properly. In addition, due to their peculiar tastes, it is hard to eat a lot of raw vegetables.

That is why Victoria made an experiment that became a real discovery in the world of health food enthusiasts. Victoria has decided to "cover up" the smell of green leafy vegetables and fruits and mix them all together in a blender to make an appetizing and light smoothie.

Thanks to her discovery we can now enjoy a delicious meal which has an amazing effect on health.

Green pulpy juice is:

Is it healthy to mix fruits and vegetables?


You have heard that combining fruits and vegetables is not healthy. But why is that? This is because fruit is easy to digest, and most vegetables contain starch, which is harder to digest.

Due to a combination of such incompatible food, foods stay in the stomach longer, which can cause fermentation, bloating, gas, and sometimes constipation.

But there is one exception from this rule - green leafy vegetables. It does not contain starch and can be seamlessly combined not only with fruit, but also with any other kinds of food.

Victoria Boutenko writes that green leafy vegetables should be placed in a separate category. Technically speaking, they are not even vegetables.

"Because it is considered a vegetable, many people mistakenly apply the same rules to green leafy vegetables as to starchy vegetables. Green leafy vegetables are the only foods that are easily digested with any other type of food. Green leafy vegetables promote the formation of digestive enzymes and alkalize organism, which is so important."

Therefore, do not worry and enjoy your cup of green shake made of fruits and vegetables!


Recipes


As much as you consider it strange to prepare shakes of raw vegetables and fruits, simply overcome your doubts and start making this healthy beverage.

After just one cup of green juice you will become "addicted" to this delicious and nutritious smoothie.

For preparing green juice, you will need a good blender – do not use stick blender. It is best to use organic fruits and vegetables.


Start by making green shakes with this simple recipe:

  •     1 banana
  •     300 ml of water
  •     100 g of berries (fresh or frozen)
  •     2-3 spinach leaves
  •     1 tablespoon of brown sugar or maple syrup (optional)


Put all ingredients in a blender and blend them for 1-2 minutes. Drink the juice immediately in small sips. The amount of juice is enough for one meal for one person.

With this recipe you simply can not go wrong: it tastes great and even children will want to drink it.

Wild berries can be replaced by any other fruit (except melons), spinach can be replaced by kale, lettuce or other leafy greens.

Experiment!

Do not stop at one recipe. Try other recipes and enjoy the flavors of fresh fruit and vegetables.


Salad

For this recipe you can use any kind of salad: lettuce, iceberg lettuce, endive, etc. Preparation is the same: put everything in a blender and blend until it becomes smooth.

Blueberry and salad smoothie

  •     1 small head of lettuce, cut into cubes
  •     1 ripe banana
  •     1 cup of blueberries, fresh or frozen
  •     1/2 cup of mango
  •     1 1/2 cups of water


Cherry and salad smoothie

  •     1 small head of lettuce, cut into large cubes
  •     1/2 cup of blueberries
  •     1/2 cup of mango
  •     1/2 cup of pitted cherries
  •     1 1/2 cups of water


Lettuce and strawberries smoothie

  •     1 cup of strawberries
  •     2 bananas
  •     1/2 head of lettuce
  •     1 1/2 cups of water


Spinach


Spinach has a milder flavor than other types of green leafy vegetables. Therefore, if you are new at preparing green shakes, especially if you have kids - start with spinach!

Begin with 1-2 handfuls of spinach. When you get used to it, increase this amount to 4-6 handfuls.

Chocolate smoothie with spinach

  •     1 large banana
  •     150-200 g of fresh spinach
  •     2 dates, pitted
  •     1 cup of blueberries
  •     1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
  •     5 ice cubes
  •     1 1/2 cups of water


Tropical smoothie with spinach

  •     1 large banana
  •     1/4 of avocado
  •     150 g of fresh spinach
  •     3/4 cup of pineapple
  •     3/4 cup of mango
  •     1 tablespoon of coconut milk (optional)
  •     1 tablespoon of agave syrup
  •     1 1/2 cups of water


Spinach with blueberries and strawberries

  •     1 large banana
  •     1 cup of blueberries
  •     1/2 cup of strawberries
  •     150 g of spinach
  •     1 1/2 cups of water


Cabbage

You might think that cabbage smoothie has a disgusting taste, but you would be wrong. Prepare this shake with incredible flavor and color with these simple recipes.

When preparing the cabbage juice, first blend the cabbage and water in a blender. Then add the other ingredients and blend for another 1-2 minutes.

Pink smoothie with cabbage

  • 3-4 glasses of green cabbage cut into cubes
  • 1 ½ banana
  • 1 cup of strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ cup of raspberries
  • 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup or agave syrup
  • 2 ice cubes
  • 1 ½ cups of water

Chocolate smoothie with cabbage

  • 1-2 cups of cabbage
  • ½ cup of almonds
  • 7 dates, pitted
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
  • 1 ½ tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 1 cup of water
  • 7 ice cubes
  • 1 banana

Cabbage and blackberry smoothie

  • 3-4 cups of green cabbage
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 cup of blackberries
  • 1 cup of blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon of maple or agave syrup
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 2 cups of water
