Many of you have at least once picked this flower and tore its petals one by one saying: "He/she loves me, he/she loves me not ..."

You can immediately guess we are talking about a daisy, (latin name Bellis Perennis L), also known as common daisy, lawn daisy or English daisy.

This lovely little flower grows everywhere and its season is just beginning.

But no matter how small – it has magnificent healing properties.

Daisy has always been present in folk medicine for its properties of cleansing the body, treatment of exhaustion and blood diseases.

In Norse mythology, it is dedicated to Ostara, the goddess of spring.

According to Christian tradition, these flowers sprung from the tears of Mary, which she shed on her voyage to Egypt.

Healing properties of daisy juice

Daisy is ideal for spring body detoxification as it removes toxins from the body. For this purpose, it is best to drink its juice.

The juice should be freshly prepared. Every day, drink one to three full tablespoons of juice mixed with half quantity of water.

Mixed with honey, the juice is a home remedy for respiratory organ diseases.

It’s also a great remedy for inflamed wounds, skin problems, burns, edema, and varicose veins.

In therapeutic purposes, it shall be placed on the affected places.

For healthy lungs, stomache and joints

Daisy tea is used in the treatment of bronchitis and chest pain, bowel and stomach inflammation, as well as liver and kidney diseases.

It also helps with irregular menstruation, pain and spasms, rheumatism, gout and arthritis. It can be combined with walnut leaves for treating internal bleeding.

Scientists also confirm that daisy is a valuable natural remedy. It is recommended in a form of tea or fresh juice as a natural help for HIV and breast cancer.

Daisy ointment is a good remedy for wounds and inflamed joints. Daisy tincture relieves rheumatism and muscle fatigue.

Beautifies and purifies the skin

Daisy contains saponins, polyphenols, flavonoids, polysaccharides and inulin.

Because of these active ingredients, daisy is widely used in cosmetics.

It is an increasingly common ingredient in many cosmetic products, especially those for skin whitening, removing freckles and hyperpigmentation.

This plant restrains melanin formation and evens out skin color caused by pigmentation disorders. It also regenerates skin cells, whitens melanin in the epidermis and deeply hydrates the skin.

In specialty stores, you can buy the daisy extract and essential oils. You can find cosmetics with daisy as a main ingredient in most drugstores.
