Skin, the largest antiaging organ which occupies an area of about 2 square meters, consists of millions of cells that are dependent on a constant supply of oxygen and nourishing nutrients.

Any change of diet, physical or mental effort, emotional changes, stress, genetic predisposition and hormonal fluctuations will lead to changes in the skin that will be clearly visible.

Therefore, it is logical that today's antiaging therapy is based on the skin and can visibly shave years off how one looks.

Natural lotions, creams and exfoliates play an important role in maintaining a good appearance of the skin from the outside.

But what’s of utmost importance is to take care of the skin from the inside and to wisely choose nourishing and high-quality nutrients which there will be abundance in the upcoming months.

At the time of year for t-shirts, shorts and dresses, many panic because they think that their skin is not yet ready for the summer or for anyone else to see.

Relax and discover what the latest scientific findings have to say about how to easily and efficiently prepare the skin for the summer, to protect it from UV rays, and to enjoy the months to come.

The secret to seductive and beautiful skin lies in the carotenoid pigment

Does the color of your skin have to do with whether someone is beautiful and attractive?

Yes, thanks to the carotenoid pigment, which is according to recent studies more important than melanin, which everyone knows about. Carotenoid is therefore the new secret to your appeal!

Skin color is the result of two processes - melaninization and fruit and vegetable intake.

The melaninization process is one where one can achieve a bronzed skin tone through exposure to the sun, thanks to the dark pigment of melanin.

On the other hand, a carotenoid pigment, which is found in fruits and vegetables, makes your skin yellowish.

Recent research have shown that yellow, carotenoid skin color is a much more important factor for a healthier and more seductive look than looking dark and very tan.

An innovative study published in The Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology (Published for the Experimental Psychology Society, Fruit over sunbed: Carotenoid skin coloration is found more attractive than melanin coloration) sheds new light precisely on the link between skin color and attractiveness.

In it, 60 participants examined the faces of 27 people in order to determine whether it was more attractive to observers to have a bronze tan or the carotenoid color.

The result of study showed in the end that as many as 75.9 percent of respondents chose a carotenoid color face! It is, therefore, important, as it is a sign of a healthy look and appeal.

Therefore, if you don’t eat carrots, red apples or berries, it's time to reconsider.

What is "beauty food"?

1. Avocado

This fruit is rich in essential fatty acids - you can eat it alone, or make pulpy smoothies or salads with it. From it you can make a traditional Mexican guacamole sauce and serve it with sliced fresh vegetables that are rich in carotenoids, such as carrots, red peppers and radishes. This sauce and these vegetables are a great appetizer for a summer dinner with friends.

2. Peppers

Red, orange, yellow, it is all the same, but they must be organically produced. They are rich in vitamin C, which is important for the production of collagen and beta-carotene, a vitamin A harbinger that is very important for healthy skin.

3. Tomatoes

Abundant in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant, which protects the skin from UV rays and pollutants from the environment.

4. Seeds

Sesame, sunflower and pumpkin seeds are rich in vitamin E and make the skin smooth and airy.

Sunflower seeds are especially good because in 25 grams they contain up to 10 milligrams of vitamin E and are rich in zinc, so they can be added to dense drinks, salads, soups and juices.

5. Spinach and chard

Natural sources of lutein, which is known for fighting wrinkles and iron, which is responsible for a healthy looking complexion.

6. Melon

It is rich in beta carotene and vitamin C, which is why it is effective protection from UV rays. The abundance of water in it makes the ideal food for skin hydration.

7. Berries

They contain significant amounts of vitamin C, which is important for the formation of collagen. Choose raspberries that are especially rich in ellagic acid, which is important in the fight against free radicals that make the skin look older.

8. Whole grains

Choose whole grains, with a low glycemic index and low glycemic charge, which is metabolized in the colon. They will help to eliminate toxins from the body and prevent constipation.

9. Ginger

The real protector of skin, this super-food simply must be included in the menu if you want beautiful and healthy skin. It helps reduce cellulite, softens wrinkles and heals skin damage caused by excessive sun exposure and dehydration.

Tips for a dazzling summer tan and perfectly healthy skin

Feed your skin the food that it likes and let it help you in choosing the above list.

The evening meal can be very easy, because the skin absorbs nutrients from midnight until 4 o'clock in the morning!

Drink between 6 to 8 glasses of water a day, not including tea or sweetened drinks, flavored mineral water or drinks with artificial sweeteners.

Minimize the intake of dark teas that contain caffeine, then coffee, hot chocolate and soft drinks. Daily coffee intake should be limited to a maximum of three per day.

Reduce alcohol intake to a minimum, it eventually causes capillaries in the skin. Alcohol dehydrates, and reduces the ability of skin hydration, important for its elasticity.

Women sometimes react to alcohol like they do with a food allergen, and on the skin come red, small pimples that cause itching.

That part of the skin becomes warmer and more sensitive, which will certainly have a negative effect on the outward appearance of skin, so here's another reason to reduce the amount of alcoholic beverages.

Do not include food rich in sugar, white flour and salt, as it will lead to inflation, which will make your skin tired.

Stop smoking, because nicotine damages the blood vessels that feed the skin with nutrients and oxygen!

Use a light scrub two to three times a week, dry your skin lightly with a towel and apply a moisturizer.

At very rough patches, squeeze a capsule of omega 6 oils (evening primrose oil).

If the skin on the soles of the feet is very hard, before bed, soak your feet in a solution of water and Epsom salts.

Do not forget to exercise because this is the ideal way to increase circulation, and thus enable the cells to transport oxygen and nutrients, and at the same time eliminate harmful radicals.

To keep your skin radiant, airy and protected, it is important to effectively work your superior organ, the liver.

It is essential for effective excretion of toxins and residues of hormones.

Then, it is necessary to engage healthy activity of the digestive system and hydration of the body.

Due to the fast lifestyle, but also the lack of interest in healthy eating, many will choose various preparations in the form of vitamins and minerals to help “feed” the body.

But remember, for skin and total internal health, the most important thing is the absorption of nutrients that we consume in food.

No single preparation can replace the long-term impact of food, especially if it is widely consumed.
