Increasing attention is given to the idea that a healthy, balanced and optimistic spirit results in a healthy and vital body.

So, feed your mind with positive thoughts and your body will be resistant to the disease.

Sounds like a new-age philosophy, but it is a proven scientific fact.

The results of many studies clearly indicate an association between negative thoughts and various disorders of the body, as well as positive thinking and proper operation of all organs and body systems.

Scientific discipline psychoneuroimmunology, established precisely for the purpose of this research, undoubtedly shows that negative thoughts, attitudes and moods such as fear, guilt, jealousy, anger, etc. have negative impact on the human body.

On the other hand, love, gratitude, joy and optimism cause positive physiological responses.


How thoughts affect the body?


The principle by which thought influences the physiology is still not fully understood, but it is known that our psychological state affects our endocrine system.

Thus, for example, it is known that emotions of fear or anger are associated with the activation of the adrenal gland and secretion of adrenaline hormone, which in turn speeds up our heart rate and breathing and causes muscle tension.

Every thought and emotion is accompanied by certain physical reactions, and our body does not recognize the difference between events that are real threats and those that exist only in our minds.

Negative thoughts can be the cause of numerous symptoms such as headaches, loss of energy, high blood pressure, digestive problems, sexual dysfunction, sweating, weight loss or weight gain, insomnia, muscle stiffness etc.

Over time, this can lead to more serious reaction, such as a cancer.

It is believed that negative moods that are short in duration do not endanger health, i.e., that the body has a protective mechanism that is activated in such conditions.

Serious consequences can occur only if negative thoughts are present for prolonged time periods.

Positive thinking, on the other hand, is proven to strengthen the immune system, reduces the risk of many diseases and speeds up healing if the disease has already occurred, and has a positive effect on our mental abilities, concentration and creativity.


Cleanliness (of the mind) is next to godliness


Some of the benefits of positive thinking, apart from strengthened immune system, also include reduced risk of heart disease and problems with the digestive, respiratory, endocrine and other body systems.

In addition to affecting our bodies, emotions also affect our intellectual abilities.

So we are more creative, intelligent and focused if we are in a state of satisfaction, gratitude, compassion, etc.

Abnormally fast and stressful pace of life of a modern man and growing health problems like a veritable epidemic of cardiovascular diseases clearly indicates how the mind and body are not two completely separate entities, which is still the dominant presumption in Western medicine.

Applying some of the many available relaxation techniques such as yoga, meditation, breathing techniques, or creative workshops such as dance, art, expression, etc. has a positive effect on our minds and emotional state, in addition to promoting our physical health.


Breathing Exercises


Use a small trick and affect the condition of the mind, and thus health using deep breathing techniques.

The fact that exercising conscious control over breathing stimulates and increases the vital energy was known to many ancient civilizations.

The fact that breathing can affect our emotional state became obvious to us when we found ourselves out of breath after a fight with someone or in a situation when we are reading an interesting book, our pulse rate becomes calm and our breathing is slowed.

Proper breathing is the key by which we can eliminate many health problems and concerns, by which we can awake our mental potential, and be happier and more creative in everything we do.

Deep breathing exercises are performed in an upright sitting position. Breathe deeply, using your whole abdomen. Exercise is performed in relaxed state and free of tensions

When inhaling, protrude you stomach outwards and it with oxygen, when you breathe out your stomach is pushed back against your spine, and carbon dioxide is pushed out of your body.

Such breathing gently massages internal organs, improves digestion, regulates kidney functions, relaxes and lowers blood pressure.

By inhaling large quantities of air during a few minutes when we are performing this exercise, the body to receive the greatest amount of precious oxygen, and thus the greater amount of energy.

Breathing with full lungs in the natural environment affects the excretion of the hormone of happiness.
