
Sweet potato is a perfect ingredient for preparing buns.
It contains a number of nutritive ingredients and it is an excellent source of energy for your body.
Sweet potato buns are delicious first-class snack that you can prepare for your family and guests.
They are very crispy and scented.
You can prepare them as salty or enjoy them sweet in combination with honey.
Once you try these delicious and soft sweet potato buns they will become an integral part of your menu!
Ingredients:
- 35 g of fresh yeast
- ¼ cup of warm water
- 2 sweet potatoes (baked, cooled and peeled)
- 100 g of homemade butter
- 4 tablespoons of maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 300-350 g of flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
Preparation:
Add a yeast into a cup of lukewarm water and leave it for 5 minutes.
In the meantime, stir sweet potatoes and butter in a bowl.
Add a maple syrup, salt and melted yeast. Stir until the mixture becomes smooth.
Put flour and baking soda in another bowl, and mix them.
Then add flour to sweet potato mixture you have already prepared and stir carefully.
Stir the pastry until all the ingredients evenly combine.
When the mixture is done, roll it into a ball and place in an oiled pan.
Cover it with a clean cloth and leave for 2-2 ½ hours in warm place until the pastry volume doubles.
Roll the pastry on a flat surface, sprinkled with flour. It should be around 1 cm thick.
Cut the pastry in circles with a pastry cutter or glass, cover and leave for another two hours. The pastry should double again.
When everything is ready, heat the oven to 200 °C and bake for 12 minutes, or until buns become golden brown.
Remove from the oven and grease over with butter.
