
December is a month of decorations. Decorate your table with special and delicious cake balls made of dried fruits and nuts, a treat you just have to taste.
These balls are easy to make. There is no need for cooking or baking.
Your whole family can enjoy their natural taste and they are a perfect replacement for unhealthy sweets every children eats.
If you have friends that enjoy top quality deserts, make them as a holiday gift.
These balls will become your favourite afternoon snack served with tea or some other warm beverage that you like.
Ingredients (for 15-20 balls)
- 10 dag of ground almonds
- 10 dag of dates or dried figs
- 10 dag of walnuts or hazelnuts
- Juice made of one orange
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons of ground carob
- 1 big banana
- ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons of coconut powder for decoration
Preparation
- Put almonds, dates and figs in a food processor and mix.
- Chop walnuts or hazelnuts in bigger pieces. Squash a banana with a fork.
- Mix all dry ingredients, add orange juice, banana and vanilla extract.
- Mix until you get a compact compound from which you can make balls. You can add more dry fruits, almonds or hazelnuts if you think it is necessary.
- Form the balls with your hands, roll the balls into coconut, carob or cacao (chocolate) powder, depending on your taste.
Keep the balls in the fridge and enjoy your new holiday sweet.
