Imagine a situation when drugs are not available, and you have to help your loved ones or yourself.
Or maybe you are one of those people who avoid conventional medications to lower the body temperature (for example, acetaminophen) because of their harmful effects on health.
In any case, I am sure you will find this information useful.
What is fever?
Fever, or high body temperature, is the way in which our body cleanses itself of toxins and infections.
Unfortunately, this function of the organism is often misunderstood by most of us and it often causes fear and concern.
Our normal body temperature is 37 degrees C. Everything that exceeds this temperature is considered a fever.
Small changes in body temperature should not be taken seriously. Body temperature can be changed depending on the time of day and physical activities.
In times of illness, fever helps the body fight against infection. This is a normal process and in most cases it is not necessary to lower the temperature.
However, above a certain limit a high body temperature can be dangerous. Temperatures above 40 degrees C are considered very dangerous and require immediate medical intervention.
If the temperature stays at this level for a long time, it can cause brain damage, seizures, and even death.
The first step in case of a fever
If you have a fever, it is best not to eat solid foods and to drink more fluids - for example tea, fruit juice or water mixed with lemon.
Hot liquid will stimulate sweating - the natural cooling mechanism of the body, which also frees the body of toxins.
You can make a special tea, which promotes sweating. Pour one liter of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of catnip (Nepeta cataria), boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum), mint and sage, cover and strain after 10 minutes.
Drink one cup of tea every hour.
