Folk medicine has used the carrot for centuries to cure and alleviate numerous ailments.
We are presenting you several recipes which can be of help to your kids. Their base is fresh carrot juice, a true elixir due to the abundance of vitamins A, B, C, D, E and K, calcium, potassium and iron.
Fresh carrot juice is a great natural remedy for strengthening immunity and preventing infections. It also helps with anemia.
It has a beneficial effect on the skin and aids with relieving the symptoms of skin ailments.
Try the folk recipes with carrot juice to provide your young ones with natural healing.
Juice against diarrhea
To stop diarrhea make a juice from 1-2 fresh carrots (depending on the size) for one tablespoon.
You can make it in a juicer or grate a fresh carrot and strain it through a cheesecloth.
Give your child one tablespoon of pure carrot juice in the morning on an empty stomach and in the evening.
Milk and carrot against parasites
For problems with parasites, worms and others, folk medicine recommends one carrot cooked in milk.
Lightly peel the carrot, just to remove the surface layer, if you use a carrot which is not eco-grown, and grate it very thinly.
Heat 2 dcl of milk, put in it about three tablespoons of grated carrot and cook it in the milk until it softens.
You should obtain a porridge. Give it to your kid 3-4 times a day before meals for a week.
Tasty juice with honey against cold and skin illnesses
Make a fresh carrot juice and add honey (acacia or another you use) to it in equal parts. Dilute with a few drops of water.
This tasty little juice is a natural remedy which will help prevent, but also treat cold symptoms such as sore throat, cough and coarseness.
As an aid with various infections, flu and cold, the recommended dose is 1-2 spoons, 2-3 times a day.
As prevention and generally for a healthier organism give your child 1 spoon of this drink twice a day.
Choice of milk
If your child is under one year old, don't use honey in above mentioned recipes, just the carrot juice, mixed with very little water.
If you don't use cow milk, you can replace it with other sorts - soy, almond or rice, depending on what you give the child.
Also, if you're breastfeeding, you can use mother's milk instead.
