We all know how delicious and healthy fresh juices can be made at home! Juices that are rich in enzymes, vitamins and minerals lift our spirits, strengthen immunity, improve digestion and protect against disease.
But why fresh juices? Is it really worth to make juice at home, or is it faster, cheaper and easier to purchase ready-made juices from the store?

To make the right choice, consider a few facts:
1. Juicer
You will need a high quality juicer. Their prices vary from EUR 50 to several hundred euros. My advice is to not buy the cheapest one because you can not expect much from them. More expensive and higher quality juicer will last longer and will produce up to 50% more juice. The best juicers are those that crush fruits and vegetables.
Such juicer also grates and presses fruits and vegetables, providing exceptional quality juice with preserved enzymes and vitamins.
The only drawback is the price, but it will pay off over time - such a juicer will last for years.
2. Fruits and vegetables
Consider the price of fruits and vegetables. While in the summer and autumn, you can use fruits and vegetables from the garden or buy them cheaply, in the winter the situation changes.
During the winter a liter of juice can cost you anywhere between EUR 1 to EUR 5.
Juices which we buy in the store are made of ripe fruits that are used for production when they are fresh and are then packages into containers and sold throughout the year.
3. The quality of fruit
One of the nicest things in the preparation of juice at home is that you can control the quality of fruits and vegetables you use.
When buying juice from the store, you do not have any insight into the raw material and technology used for making juice.
4. The quality and flavor of juice
Home-made juice has a much better flavor. Once you try homemade juice, you will want to drink that juice only.
The quality of domestic juice is also incomparable with the quality of purchased juices. Freshly made juices are rich in enzymes, vitamins and minerals.
Over time, these valuable ingredients are lost, since juices from stores contain a lot less nutrients.
5. Additives
If you believe in what is written on the label, we can conclude that in-store juice contains no preservatives. This is great news, but there are also bad ones.
At the present time it is almost impossible to find a juice that does not contain citric acid, which is carcinogenic according to some studies. In addition, many juices contain sugar or artificial sweeteners.
Only if you make your own can you be fully confident that there are no preservatives or artificial sugars.
6. Preparation and cleaning
Preparation of fruit and vegetables, making juice, and then washing and cleaning the kitchen and the juicer can take anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes.
Of course, it depends on the kind of juice that you make and the juicer. Some juicers are easier to clean, while others require a lot of time.
Is it worth to set aside time and money for a cup of healthy and delicious nectar, full of enzymes, vitamins and minerals? The decision is individual and depends on how much a person is willing to invest in their health.
