Imagine a world with no vitamins and minerals. The world in which the production and sale of natural remedies is illegal. Shops full of genetically modified products without GMO labels.
Cows have to be treated with genetically engineered growth hormones with the addition of antibiotics. Food reaches store shelves after being subjected to radiation.
Do you think this is the scenario of another sci-fi movie? You are wrong! This is our near future!
What is Codex Alimentarius?
Codex Alimentarius is an organization founded 40 years ago by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) under the umbrella of the UN.
The Codex was established with the aim of good consumer protection and food safety control.
The Codex has more than 20 state commissions under its wing that are working on defining the standards and guidelines at the international level regarding control production and food security.
Their goal is to solve the problems associated with genetically modified food and biotechnology.
Unfortunately, over time, the organization fell under the influence of major pharmaceutical and agricultural corporations and manufacturers of genetically modified foods.
Instead of protecting the interests of consumers, today Codex Alimentarius represents the interests of giant corporations such as Monsanto.
Codex Alimentrius is not a health committee, but a trade committee. Priority of the Codex is the realization of the interests of multi-billion dollar companies producing food and drugs, not the welfare and health of consumers.
Codex Alimentarius is closely associated with the World Trade Organization (WTO). WTO uses criteria, developed by Codex, to set the rules and standards of international trade.
What rules does the Codex impose?
The rules, imposed by the Codex, were developed with the aim to ensure the profits to huge corporations that produce food and to companies engaged in genetic engineering. These rules represent a huge threat to the health of every person on this planet.
What they propose is absurd. Natural supplements, alternative medicines, vitamins and minerals will become illegal, while the toxic chemicals will be used as dietary supplements and additives.
Most of the food will be subjected to radiation, and genetically modified products will not be allowed to carry a label that declares them as GMO products.
Criteria imposed by the Codex:
Genetically modified food:
- introduction of genetically modified products globally
- GMO campaign will be led by the United States and Canada, and Europe will have to give in under their pressure
- "Terminator" seed sales will be allowed at the international level
- new genetically modified animal products will be introduced
- genetically modified products no longer have to be labeled as GMO products
Ecological farming:
- reduction of ecological cultivation standards
- support to huge agricultural corporations with "cost-effective" production
- introduction of various synthetic additives and processing methods in the eco-production
- under the law, eco-farmers now must submit their products to radiation
- eco-products no longer need to list non-organic compounds on the label
Additives:
- more than 300 different additives (mostly synthetic) have been approved as "safe." Among them are aspartame, BHA, BHT, potassium bromate, tartrazine, etc.
- the potential risk of long-term use of foods with these additives is not taken into account
Percentage of pesticide in food:
- higher levels of more than 3,275 kinds of pesticide in food are allowed, including those known to be carcinogenic or interfering with the function of the endocrine system, for example, 2,4-D, atrazine and methyl bromide
- the risk to health from long-term use of foods with pesticides is not taken into account
Food and nutritional supplements
- minimum daily dose of vitamins and minerals has been lowered by 75%
- sharp boundaries between food and medicine have been set; nutrients will now fall into the category of drugs
- supplements will have to go through clinical trials, which is too expensive for most manufacturers; this will give the green light to large corporations to destroy small manufacturers
- lowering the minimum daily dose of nutrients will have a serious negative impact on human health
