
Cabbage is a favorite dish at our tables, especially in the pickled form.
But do you know that it is a very effective and inexpensive remedy for many ailments?
A hundred grams of raw cabbage contain 42 mg of vitamin C.
It is accompanied by vitamin A, folic acid and the minerals magnesium, iron, phosphorus, calcium, potassium and sodium.
There are many varieties of cabbage, the most popular of which are the white, red and Savoy cabbage, which some people erroneously call kale.
Red cabbage is regarded the most effective variety. It is up to seven times more healing than white, and its color indicates the presence of medicinal compounds anthocyanins.
Cabbage - an inexpensive remedy for many ailments
Cabbage is best eaten raw or lightly cooked. For the purposes of treatment, use unsprayed home grown or ecologically grown cabbage.
Raw cabbage, if you frequently eat it, helps with anemia, insomnia, depression and anxiety.
Boiled cabbage is an excellent remedy for spring detoxification and one of the best remedies against nervous tension, anxiety, malaise and poor concentration.
Cabbage is rich in the anticancer compound sinigrin, which possesses unique properties against prostate cancer, bowel and bladder.
It also has excellent anti-inflammatory properties which helps with inflammatory diseases such as arthritis and rheumatism.
In case of lung disease drink cabbage juice mixed with honey.
It cleans the airways and helps with asthma and bronchitis.
Gargling cabbage juice is recommended in case of throat diseases.

Cabbage juice against ulcer
The use of cabbage against ulcers is well known.
It owes this to its ingredient sulforaphane, which eliminates the H. pylori and also defends the gastrointestinal tract from acid reflux.
It also contains glutamine, which is essential to stomach health. Studies have shown that it is a superior remedy for ulcers than standard antacids.
That cabbage juice really helps in the treatment of ulcers has been shown by the experiment conducted by prof. Dr. Garnett Cheyneyja from the Stanford Medical School in the United States.
He found that 2.5 ounces of cabbage juice a day reduce the pain and heal ulcers in the stomach and duodenum faster and more efficiently than the standard treatment.
Of the 55 participants of this experiment who drank cabbage juice, 95% improved within two to five days.
Grate a pound of cabbage, season with salt, add the juice of one lemon and let it rest. After that strain.
Always drink freshly prepared juice.
For treatment purposes take three to four cups of cabbage juice per day, half an hour before meals.
Cabbage juice can also be used in hair care. It will make the hair stronger, prevent it from falling out and spur its growth.
Cabbage wraps
Cabbage wraps are an old folk remedy for various ailments.
Whatever may be bothering you - put a cabbage leaf on it.
Since cabbage strongly draws pus from a wound and disinfects it, it is often used with problem wounds that heal slowly.
Remove the core and veins from a cabbage leaf. Place the leaf on the affected area in multiple layers and gently tie all the layers so that they are firmly in place.
Change the wrap three times a day.
In case of purulent and hard-to-heal wounds, disinfect the wound while you change the wrap.
During a severe illness, perform an internal treatment by drinking cabbage juice simultaneously with applying wraps.
