In ancient cultures people lived in clean environment and ate healthy diet.
Regardless of that, they regularly cleansed their organism.
Today, when the air, water and food are polluted, cleansing is becoming more important.
For most people, the body is burdened by digesting heavy and unhealthy food, especially during the winter when we eat less fruit and vegetables.
Besides our environment being full of toxins - pesticides and toxic substances are everywhere: in food, water, cosmetics, air, even in the clothes we wear.
Accumulation of toxins in our body can eventually cause health problems - from the smallest ones like indigestion and lack of energy, to more serious ones - such as arthritis, allergies and heart disease.
To get rid of toxins and prevent health problems, we should regularly perform cleansing programs.
Cleansing of the body will help restore the natural balance, energy, concentration, and a positive attitude. But that is not all - regular body cleaning can prevent many diseases.
You think it is hard to cleanse the body? Learn more about the three simple ways to remove toxins that you can apply today.
1. Sauna
Sauna is the easiest method of body cleansing, and everyone can use it.
Saunas and spas have been present in many cultures. Sweating and sauna have always been associated with good health and the process of healing.
It is assumed that the tradition of sauna began in ancient Rome, but some data show that the first saunas date back to the Stone Age.
They were found in ancient documents where Herodotus describes "how members of some tribes rolled hot stones into small tents, where they would then go to sweat."
It is obvious that our ancestors enjoyed the benefits of the sauna.
How does it work?
Sauna raises body temperature by a few degrees. Hyperthermia, or increased body temperature, kills bacteria, viruses and parasites in the blood and tissues, and stimulates the process of sweating.
With sweating in the body, fat deposits, where toxins are mostly accumulated, are melting. Toxins are released and leave our body through the skin, through perspiration.
In addition to cleansing the body, sauna promotes weight loss, improves circulation, relieves stress and improves your skin.
How to use a sauna?
In order to purify the body, use a sauna 2-3 times a week. You should stay in sauna for 15-30 minutes. Drink more fluids before and after you go to sauna, preferably mineral water.
Sauna is not recommended for pregnant women and people suffering from high blood pressure, multiple sclerosis and heart disease.
2. Fasting
Fasting is the oldest method of cleaning toxins. Fasts were mentioned in Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science about health and life, which goes back at least 5000 years.
There are several types of fasts – based on fruits and vegetables, juices, water, even fasting without water.
Fasting detoxifies the body - all organs and cells - from harmful substances and restores them.
During fasting, our digestion, heart and circulatory systems are less burdened. Breathing is enhanced and the lungs and body cells get better supply of oxygen.
Fasting regulates many organs and improves overall metabolism.
It is no wonder that people feel as being "born again" after fasting.
Fasting on water
Fasting on water is an effective way of cleansing organism and it can be used as a part of treatment of many diseases.
It involves drinking only purified water. This process allows the body to rest, detoxify and heal.
During fasting, the body, instead of wasting energy on digesting food, is burning toxins and healing damaged cells and organs.
You can fast on water one day every week. It is very simple: start the day with a glass of water, and continue so.
The second day drink freshly squeezed juice from fruits or vegetables. A few hours later, eat a light soup, and cooked vegetables later.
Fasting on the water can last for several days - up to 2 weeks, but I recommend that you try long fasts only under the supervision of an alternative physician.
Ayurveda does not recommend fasting to vata types. If your body type is vata, it is better to choose another method of body cleansing.
3. Natural chelates
Chelates are agents which bind themselves to toxins and heavy metals, and then expel them from the body.
There are natural and synthetic chelates. Among strong natural chelates are chlorophyll, coriander, green clay and zeolite.
Coriander is one of the strongest chelates in nature. It is an effective and inexpensive way to clean the toxins and heavy metals.
Add the coriander in your diet: Put a handful of fresh coriander into soup, salad or vegetable dish. Grind the coriander; add the olive oil, salt and spices and put it on bread.
Chlorophyll is the green pigment found in green plants - for example, broccoli, alfalfa, seaweed.
With the help of chlorophyll we can easily remove traces of toxins and heavy metals from the body.
Chlorophyll can be obtained from food (increase your intake of green vegetables), or in the form of diet supplements.
With the sun, air and water, which vital elements it contains, clay is one of the oldest and most powerful means of physical renewal.
Bath with green clay is a very simple method of cleansing the body of toxins and heavy metals. Add two cups of green clay to a bath filled with warm water.
Spend 20 minutes in the tub, put in warm water. Clay penetrates through the pores of the body and draws out toxins and heavy metals.
You can use green clay for internal applications also, and more about that you will find in our article about body cleansing using green clay.
Spring is coming, and as we all know it, this is the best time for body cleansing. Remove toxins from you body and let the freshness and health enter into your life!
