češnjak  For thousands of years this miraculous herb cures a variety of ailments.

Homer wrote about it in the Odyssey as the "plant of salvation", in the Vedas it is described as "the holy divine herb and remedy."

Pharaohs gave garlic to slaves during the construction of the Cheops pyramid in order for them to have a strong, healthy and robust body for heavy physical work.

There is a story that garlic was the reason for the first known strike. Namely, during the construction of the pyramids, slaves stopped receiving garlic and they started a mutiny and stopped construction.

In both World Wars, garlic was used as a disinfectant. And we all know the story of how garlic wards off evil spirits.

Garlic is one of the oldest known cultivated plants in the world and people are familiar with its healing and magical properties for thousands of years.

In recent years, scientists have proven its therapeutic properties, and therefore it became widely accepted remedy.

Today it is known proven garlic contains about 200 active substances – it is rich in nitrogenous substances, essential oils, which contain sulfur, vitamins (A, B1, B2 and C), minerals (potassium, iron, iodine, calcium, selenium and phosphorus), contains amino acids, poliosis as inulin, enzymes, vegetable fats and other substances.

In ancient Rome, Pliny the Elder said: "There is no disease that will not disappear with the use of garlic."

Garlic is a versatile remedy that has proven to be excellent in the treatment of various ailments and diseases.

Its considerable antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties were confirmed.

Garlic is a powerful antioxidant, has anti-inflammatory properties and has a great effect on the immune system.

Many call it the best friend of human bloodstream because it lowers blood pressure, makes blood vessels more flexible (excellent against atherosclerosis), stimulates the red blood cells, stimulates circulation and improves blood flow.

Daily consumption of garlic protects against heart disease and stroke, it is also good against diabetes because it regulates the percentage of glucose in the blood.

Studies have shown that people who use garlic every day have a lower risk of various cancers, especially cancer of the gastrointestinal tract.

In fact, garlic is a regulator of intestinal flora, eliminates congestion (and hence the possibility of poisoning), and stimulates the secretion of gastric juices and thus disinfects the intestines.

Garlic also protects the body from aging.

Garlic - excellent food for cold winter days

During the period when cold and flu are prevailing, garlic will save you from disease. Eat 2-3 cloves of garlic every day. This will strengthen your immune system and reduce the possibility of infection.

In the past, during the flu epidemic, people would smash a few cloves of garlic and put them in their living spaces because the garlic will not only kill bacteria and viruses in the body, but also destroys them in the air.

Stinking rose

It is not surprising that ancient Greeks called it "stinking rose" because its scent is one of the main reasons why many avoid this medicinal plant.

But do not avoid garlic consumption and thus enjoy the numerous benefits because there are many solutions which you can use to cover its scent.

It is good chew mint leaves or parsley, drink lemonade, and chew a clove or a few coffee beans after you have eaten garlic. You can also eat grated apple with the addition of honey.

It is a real rarity that a plant has so many positive effects on human organism. So, please be a true friend of your body and eat at least one clove of garlic every day.
