With time, toxins begin to deposit inside our body.
Because of the air we breathe, because of the water we drink, because of pesticides contained in our food.
Ayurveda says that toxins can also be created by indigestion - when we eat too much or when we combine food improperly.
Over the years, toxins and heavy metals can accumulate in our bodies and can cause numerous problems, such as:
- skin diseases
- allergies and asthma
- depression
- migraines
- flatulence, indigestion
- chronic fatigue
- cancer.
Therefore, it is necessary to cleanse the body of toxins and heavy metals.
Green clay is one of natural remedies that effectively and quickly cleanses the body without causing any harm to our health.
Green clay through history
Alongside the sun, air and water, vital elements which clay contains, it is one of the most powerful and oldest means of physical recovery.
Many generations before us have believed in the power of clay. In ancient Egypt, the healing power of clay was well-known. Green clay was used for treating and mummifying of the Pharaohs.
The ancient Greeks used clay for treating fractures: they placed plaster strips lubricated with clay mud on fractures.
Pedanius Dioscorides claimed that clay has remarkable healing powers. He believed that clay has a "divine intelligence" and it finds and cures all diseases in the body.
Galen, the famous Greek philosopher and physician, wrote a treatise on the treatment of green clay.
Arab physician Avicenna, "prince among physicians," was teaching clay therapy to thousands of his students.
Effects of green clay
It is still not entirely clear how green clay works. Some assume that clay has an exceptional absorbing power which allows it to absorb all impurities and pathogens from the body.
Others suggest that clay has a special "intelligence", by which it finds and removes all malfunctions in the functioning of the human body.
Some relate the healing power of clay with its negative charge. They find that, because of its negative charge green clay attracts and binds all particles that are positively charged. Positively charged particles in our bodies are bacteria, viruses, toxins, etc.
Besides binding toxins and expelling them from the body through the digestive tract, clay also supplies us with necessary elements. Specifically, clay contains over 60 minerals and trace elements that nourish and heal our organism.
Russian scientists have discovered that the use of clay can neutralize even the effects of radiation. Clay is therefore used for nuclear accidents, for absorbing radiation as much as possible.
Types and composition of clay
In nature you can find green, yellow, white and red clay. However, only the green clay is used for treating and cleansing the body.
There are several types of green clay, and the most famous clay mines are located in France and in Sicily.
Depending on where it is dug up, each type of green clay contains a unique percentage of various minerals and trace elements.
Green clay contains selenium, magnesium, iron, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, manganese, copper, silicon, sodium and other minerals and trace elements.
