Nature already provided us with everything our body needs during colder days when the sun energy is low.

Preparing warm meals during cold weather will improve your immunity, mental abilities and even your mood.

Proper choice of spices can benefit your digestion system and give balance to your body.

Dill, fennel, ginger, horseradish, chili, rosemary, basil and curcuma are just some of the spices you can use in this time of year.


Time for Renewal and Recovery


According to Chinese Taoists autumn presents a transgression from the active state to the state of preservation, renewal and recovery.

Therefore, beside products that warm your body, it is recommended to take products that will quickly and adequately mineralize your body and recover its lost strength.

During autumn it is recommended to eat root products such as beetroot, carrot, celery, onion, garlic and pumpkin.

Fig

Beside its well known laxative effect, fig has many other health benefits due to magnesium it contains.

Magnesium is one of the basic elements that protect our nervous system from stress.

It is important for the bones, immunity, brain health and nervous system. Thanks to magnesium we can be healthy, vital and youthful even in old age.


Pumpkin

Pumpkin as the most commonly used autumn product that can be prepared in various ways. You can cook it, fry it, make a pie, soup or filling and pumpkin will always preserve its original taste and charm.

Crucial ingredient found in pumpkin is beta-carotene that has a multiple protective effect on your body.

In traditional and modern medicine pumpkin is known as an excellent ingredient for people suffering from digestive problems.

It is an excellent diuretic and helps with gout, rheum, inflammation of urinary tract, kidneys and bile.

Pumpkin seeds have a greater value then the other parts of this fruit.

They are richer with minerals, vitamins, iron, calcium, potassium and phosphorus.


Sweet potatoes

Sweet potatoes are also rich with beta-carotene.

Their origin is in Middle America and they are considered as one of the most nutritious types of vegetables.

High levels of minerals (potassium, magnesium, calcium and iron) and vitamins (A, B, C and D) will provide the body with antioxidants.

But its greatest treasure is beta-carotene. It is considered that 200 g of sweet potatoes contains the same amount of beta carotene as 5 kg of broccoli.

Sweet potatoes don’t contain fat and they provide the body with high levels of energy. Sweet potatoes will not make you fat.

Complexed fibers and proteins contained in sweet potatoes enable partial sugar release and its absorption into the blood.

Sweet potatoes are recommended for persons suffering from obesity, heart problems and diabetes.


Beans

Beans have been mentioned in the oldest scriptures in the world and therefore are considered as one of the oldest types of food.

Beans are considered as a healthy ingredient because they contain various healthy proteins, fibers, minerals and vitamins.

Black bean is excellent for digestion especially for colon problems.

It is rich with proteins, vitamins B9, B1, phosphorus, iron and manganese.

Beans, as well as potatoes and mushrooms are considered as tuber vegetables that are good in retaining the heat of the body.

Good old rule of eating seasonal products works every time.

Nature has its own intelligence and it is providing us with everything we need all the time.
