Food you should avoid during pregnancy

In the sensitive period of pregnancy not all ingredients are good for you.

Find out which ingredients you should avoid because they can damage your health and the health of your baby.

  • Avoid eating liver and liver pate because it contains a high amounts of vitamin A. High levels of vitamin A can cause miscarriage or congenital abnormalities.
     
  • Listeria is an infection that rarely occurs, but if it does it creates various complications in new-born babies. Therefore you should avoid non-pasteurized milk and soft cheese like gorgonzola or Stilton.
     
  • Toxoplasmosis is an infection caused by parasites coming from meat, earth or cat dung. Be very careful when you are in contact with raw meat and if you have to pick up a dung after your pet, wear glows. Wear them also when gardening because these infection can harm your unborn baby.
     
  • Salmonella is a bacteria that causes poisoning and it can be found in raw or not sufficiently fried eggs. Avoid homemade mayonnaise, chocolate mousse and ice creams to reduce the risk.
     
  • Smoking and alcohol are dangerous for your baby. Studies confirm that this combination affects the development of fetus in the uterus. Therefore you should stop smoking and drinking alcohol during pregnancy and breast feeding period.

While choosing various food ingredients it is important to exercise. Swimming and walking are highly recommended.

All future mothers that suffered miscarriage or some other complication should consult their doctor regarding regular exercise.

Medium exercise will help you and your baby to gain healthy weight, it will improve your sleep, strengthen the muscles, stimulate circulation, and make you more relaxed and positive, decrease obstipation and gassiness.


New Studies Confirm the Negative Influence of Food Rich in Fats


According to recent study conducted by Adelaide University, pregnant women suffering from asthma who eat food rich in fats and sugars will not be able to control their asthma symptoms during pregnancy.

According to Dr. Jessica Grieger nutrition is extremely important for all women that are planning pregnancy especially the ones suffering from asthma.

Asthma is a chronic condition that affects 8 to 13% of the population, but during the pregnancy it is highly dangerous for the mother and her baby.

Pregnant women suffering from asthma have a high 54% risk of preeclampsia, child pre-labor and giving birth to a child of a very low weight which can endanger the life of the baby and the mother.

Smart nutritive strategy lovers all the above mentioned risks.

Choosing non-fat food, eating plant’s fiber, fruits and vegetables of low glycemic index before getting pregnant is very important because according to statistics it is rare that a pregnant woman will change her eating habits after getting pregnant.

My advice is that before getting pregnant you should make a nutritive profile which includes the analysis of your body and according to your individual characteristics create your nutritive strategy.
