Genetically modified mosquitoes will soon be released into the environment |

Alliance for mosquito control, with the help of private company Oxitec Insect Technology, plans to launch the release of GMO mosquitoes in Florida.
The first release of GMO mosquitoes occurred in the Cayman Islands in 2009, and the second in Malaysia in 2010.
Now the residents of Florida, like the citizens of the Cayman Islands and Malaysia, will be exposed to these genetically created insects without their consent.
Here is what Natural Society had to say:
"Genetically modified mosquitoes contain a special gene, which is lethal for mosquitoes if they do not receive the antibiotic called tetracycline.
Their offspring will also inherit this lethal gene, which means they will die before they reach maturity and begin to reproduce.
The idea is that normal mosquitoes will interbreed with GMO mosquitoes, thus spreading the deadly gene, which will lead to a reduction in mosquito populations.
Of course, the risk posed by GMO mosquitoes is not known. Release of GMO mosquitoes into the environment could have a disastrous impact on local and global ecosystems. "
While the GMO industry has steadfastly claimed that genetically modified plants and animals are harmless and bring numerous benefits to humanity, reality shows us something quite different.
Genetic modifications of plants and animals are in full swing
Unfortunately, most people do not know what is happening in the field of genetic engineering. Monsanto and other GMO companies create not only genetically modified plants, but also animals.
For example, they created a sheep that was 85% sheep, 15% people, and the plan is to make such creatures into organ donors for humans. Also, they created goats that produce milk containing spider web protein - for the production of leather resistant to bullets.
Cows are genetically modified to produce milk than in their composition more closely resembles that of humans. And the list goes on.
While GMO companies claim that their experiments are trying to help humanity, the reality is that we are playing with nature and are trying to artificially change the sensitive and precisely balanced ecosystem.
And when we do that, unexpected consequences are guaranteed to us, because we do not have enough knowledge about the things we are playing with.
What will happen to local and global ecosystem if the population of mosquitoes is drastically reduced or if it completely disappears? Many of us hate mosquitoes because they bite and transmit dangerous diseases, but they are also a staple food for many life forms.
The very idea of the destruction of mosquitoes just because we do not like them is absurd - if you look at their role in the whole food chain.
Effects of GMO products on human health
It has already been confirmed that the GMO food affects fertility and causes the disease known as endometriosis.
Glyphosate containing genetically modified soy, adversely affects the operation of our endocrine system and reproductive organs.
It can cause infertility, miscarriage, pain in the back and pelvis, chronic fatigue, stomach problems and a whole host of other symptoms.
Monsanto claims that genetically modified foods are not different from the natural, but research confirms something completely opposite. Here are just a few unpleasant facts associated with GMO food:
- a protein found in GMO peas destroys the lungs
- GMO potatoes increases the risk of cancer
- DNA from GMO foods can be bound to the bacteria in our digestive tract
- animals that have eaten GMO soybeans had 5-fold higher mortality rate
- mice that ate GMO soy had damaged sperm and could not reproduce
- embryos of mice that ate GMO soybeans had distorted DNA functions
- GMO corn causes a number of autoimmune disorders, including arthritis, osteoporosis and inflammatory bowel disease
- American farmers are concerned because cows and pigs that were fed with GMO corn can no longer reproduce
- in India there is a growing concern that the buffaloes that ate GMO food are now ill, infertile and will die prematurely.
A deadly new type of microfungus that causes sudden death syndrome had recently appeared in GMO crops. This fungus enters the body of animals via food and causes disease and premature death.
"The word `safe’ means something that is not a safety risk or that the level of risk is acceptable.
The problem with genetically modified organisms is that there is no estimate of how harmless they actually are. Corporations that promote harmlessness GMO foods claim to have done their own research to confirm this. However, no one has access to this research because it was done within the company and their own research results.
There are no independent studies on the impact of GMO products on human health and the environment.

What exactly will happen if we replace animals with genetically modified versions?
The truth is that we do not know! But based on the facts, we can assume that the result will be less than suitable for our survival.
It is stupid to risk the life on our planet because of profit – and that is exactly what those GMO companies are doing right now.
