Kitchen and dining room are the stomach and digestive system of your home because it is the place where we prepare meals and ingest them.
Surely you have at least once in a lifetime noticed dissatisfaction with the food you consume.
The dish looked appealing on the plate and it was tastefully prepared, but still it did not agree with you.
The reason for this is the energy that the food had.
Chefs that are in a bad mood and improperly equipped kitchen or dining room can adversely affect the health of people who eat in such conditions.
Therefore, it is extremely important to properly regulate the kitchen and dining room, to maintain healthy digestive organs.
Kitchen layout
When furnishing your kitchen, you need to make sure that the kitchen is not facing north.
All other sides are allowed, but the kitchen should not be located directly at the entrance to the home, without hallways or corridors that will separate the kitchen from the front door.
Modern, so-called “cooking islands” available in large kitchens are ideal since they separate different energy elements and provide the opportunity for more people to participate in the process of meal making.
If you have a small kitchen, keep it clean, well-organized and neat.
Straight lines of furniture have being used for a long time, but if you can, choose rounded edges for kitchen cabinets or shelves as this will soften the sharp chi.
Avoid kitchen furniture that has shiny surfaces that reflects and creates the impression of a mirror.
If you are in a position to choose, opt for wood or cork, instead of traditional ceramic tiles on floors and walls.
Ceramic tiles are draining energy and cause fatigue. Surface made of the steel has the similar effect so you should avoid it.
It is good to have plants in your kitchen (for example, spice herbs) if you have enough space and an external light source.
Avoid conflict of elements
In the kitchen there are two conflicting elements - fire and water.
Sources of fire (stoves and ovens) and water sources (sinks) must not be near or opposite one another.
The stove is the most important part of the kitchen and should be carefully set. The stove should not be placed under a window or roof beams, or in front of the door or protruding corner.
It is also not good to position the stove opposite of the bathroom or staircase. If you have a two-storied house, do not place the stove under a bathroom or under any type of water source.
Between the stove and sink set one element that will separate them. If this is not possible, place a healthy green pot herb between them.
The second most important item in the kitchen is the refrigerator. It should also be separated from the stove or oven.
Choose the refrigerator according to the size of the kitchen. Do not choose a large refrigerator if you live in a small apartment and do not choose too small a refrigerator for a very large kitchen.
It is important that it is always filled with fresh products, since food symbolizes and attracts abundance.
Color and lighting
It would be perfect to have at least two windows in the kitchen and the dinning room.
If you do not have this option, make sure you have a high quality artificial lighting.
It is particularly important that the kitchen is well lit.
Ensure adjustable lighting in the dining room, so you can simply dim the lights when you want a romantic atmosphere.
In the kitchen, the white color is the most appropriate. If you do not like it, choose pale green or light blue.
In any case, avoid dark colors, especially all shades of pink and red colors because they reinforce the fire (which is already there in sufficient quantities) and that can cause arguing.
Unlike the kitchen, the dining room requires bright and lively colors, depending on how it is oriented.
Paint the walls with a pale hue, if the dining room is oriented towards the east.
If it is facing south, dark green or blue will suit it better.
If it is oriented towards the west, it will benefit from pink and orange shades.
The dining room facing north requires gray or white walls, enriched with red and silver details of the furniture.
If the dining room is an integral part of the kitchen or the living room, you can separate them visually by using different colors of the walls.
Dinning room position
It is best to place the dinning room to the south or east of the kitchen, and between the kitchen and the living room, in the center of the home or near its center.
Like the kitchen, it should not be near the main entrance of the home and it should not face towards them because it can cause digestive problems.
If it is impossible to avoid the vicinity of the main entrance, put up a screen to separate them as much as possible.
Adverse effects can arise when the dining room shares a wall with a toilet or a bathroom. If you live in a multi-storied house, a bathroom with a toilet or a room with a heavy piece of furniture should not be located over the dinning room.
If a sloping ceiling or raised ceiling beams are located above the table, they need to be "flattened" or covered with natural materials because it is not good to sit or eat under them.
The dining room should have two entrances, one from the kitchen and one from the living room, but if there are two doors they should not be on opposite sides, across the table, since such energy adversely affects the relationships between the food and the family.
Also, the windows in the room should not be located on opposite walls.
If the dining room is located on the south side, the windows should be in the east wall and vice versa - if the dining room is located on the eastern side, the windows should be on the south wall.
A place of prosperity and harmony
The area in which we dine is of great importance and has a direct impact on relationships within the family, interconnectedness and happiness of the entire family.
The proper selection of furniture and non-aggressive details will create both peaceful and social atmosphere.
The main elements of the dining room are the table and chairs, which should be placed in the middle of the room.
The table should be made of wood, all forms of tables being allowed, depending on the mood you wish to achieve.
A round table is generally the best choice, since it encourages unity. An oval table is also a good choice because it symbolizes relaxation.
A square table contributes to more serious, more stringent relationships within the family and among family members.
The least recommended is an elongated, rectangular table because it emphasizes the hierarchical approach.
Chairs can be of any material, if they match the table, but they must have a higher seat for good support during the meal since that symbolizes support and protection.
Choose an even number of chairs, preferably more than four chairs; an ideal number of chairs would be eight.
The oldest member of the household should sit at the north side of the table.
If you have enough space, you can accommodate cabinets or shelves under the condition that their appearance does not threaten the harmony of space, which should always be clean, neat, relaxed and allowing the free flow of energy.
In the free corner you can set flowers that will make the space appear more cheerful.
Additional warmth can be achieved by placing decorations on the walls, including photographs or pictures that make you happy or show your loved ones, provided they are not be deceased.
Food motifs are welcomed, especially fruits like peach, oranges or pineapples.
Also, when you eat, it is advisable to keep a fruit bowl on the table, as this invites abundance.
You can also multiply your wealth by placing large and beautiful mirrors that will reflect the food on the table, but it is not good to see the reflection of a door or a window in the mirror.
With the help of advice from this ancient Chinese art, the food we prepare daily will have a more attractive taste, while you will be healthier, more serene and financially more balanced.
