In the harsh world in which we live and which demands from us to stay firmly grounded, perhaps we miss magic the most.
However, it is actually all around us, we just have to reach for it.
Therefore, we can use colours.
Colors are a powerful tool for achieving mental and physical balance, but despite that, we are almost unaware of their power.
Yes, they are pleasing to the eye, so we choose them based on our preferences, using colors primarily for aesthetic purposes. But, is there more we can do with colors?
Of course not, because they also can be seen as an efficient and easily accessible tool for the enhancement of quality of life.
Unfortunately, that tool is mostly completely useless to us, and that is because we do not know how to use it.
However, if we make an effort to learn about the power of color, we will come to the conclusion that they belong to the collection of tools for achieving optimal health.
The psychological impact of color and its effect on our subconscious mechanisms is well-known to marketing experts. They use colors to convince us to buy a certain product.
For example, since the airy, bright and soft colors, like white, light blue and light green, unconsciously associate with purity and freshness, we will almost always see them in adverts for products for personal care and home cleaning.
In contrast, red, orange and yellow, as colors of instinct, excitement and life energy, are often used in adverts for all products that aim to satisfy our hedonistic needs.
All we need to do is to apply the power of colors just as marketing experts use it.
How to use color
Conscious use of color can help us on multiple levels.
For example, colors can:
- accelerate mental and physical recovery
- improve mood
- encourage us to take action or to allow relaxation
- wake us up or soothe us
- fill us with a certain kind of energy that we are missing at the moment
- assist in achieving our goals and attracting positive outcomes
But how can we achieve that? There are many ways, but each of them is very simple and effective.
In order to encourage healing or alleviate physical difficulties, you can use the method of visualization, in a way that you direct imagined beam of light at the affected part of your body.
For starters, do that for at least 3 minutes, and then gradually extend to 10 minutes of meditation.
While doing so, you can place your right palm over the solar plexus chakra (located at the level of the upper abdomen, below the rib cage), and the left palm on the affected area.

If you have trouble visualizing, the same effect will be achieved by observing certain colors, by looking at pictures or objects of that color. Then simply mentally direct that color towards the affected part of the body.
Effect of color
White color will generally be used for the purification of body and mind, especially in emergency situations or in a state of shock.
You can introduce it to your body via food, such as milk and dairy products, cauliflower, beets, celery, pears, bananas, onions and garlic.
The red color in general helps to supply the body with the necessary energy after fatigue and exhaustion. It encourages creativity, builds self-confidence and will power, encourages, and removes lethargy and depression.
Therapy using red color will help against anemia, poor circulation, varicose veins, and hemorrhoid problems.
Eat tomatoes, red beets, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, red currants, watermelon, red, orange, radish in order to introduce red color to your organism via food.
The orange color is traditionally considered the color of wisdom, which is why Swamis often wear clothes of that color.
Since it helps to open the mind, it is associated with understanding and tolerance, and removes emotional blockages, facilitate learning, stimulates memory and soothes irritability.
Also, it is the color of sensuality and physical pleasure.
Therapy using orange color will help with all problems related to reproductive organs, such as impotence, infertility, problems related to the menstrual cycle, also with bladder problems.
You can also use orange colored food, such as carrots, oranges, tangerines, apricots, pumpkin.
Yellow color, as a symbol of the sun, heat and growth, generally creates optimism and encourages a positive attitude towards life.
Therapy using yellow color will help eliminate anxiety, feelings of inferiority and fear, and it can be used for treating stomach and liver diseases.
When it comes to food, eat melon, grapefruit, corn, pears, lemons, peaches, pineapple.
The green color, as the color of nature, serenity and inner balance, is great for stressful situations, particularly those related to emotional problems, such as the wounded heart.
Therapy using green color will also help with heart and lung disease, and asthma and allergies.
When it comes to food, eat green peppers, broccoli, peas, all kinds of lettuce, green apples, green grapes, kiwi, cucumbers, zucchini, leeks, and asparagus.
Blue is generally associated with the ability to express and implement ideas, and the ability to adapt to the environment.
Therapy using blue color will help remove fears, obsessions, psychosis and anxiety, and on the physical level we can use it for all diseases of the head, throat, teeth and gums, thyroid problems and cervical spine.
If you suffer from such problems, consume blue-colored food items such as blue and black grapes, plums, blueberries, black currants.
The purple color is mostly associated with the ability to develop intuitive and spiritual insights.
The therapy using this color greatly helps with lack of self-confidence, and removes the feeling of meaninglessness. It will also help those who suffer from frequent mood swings, migraines and depression.
When it comes to food, eat eggplant, purple cabbage, blueberries, blackberries, purple figs.
How else can you use colors
Except through food, color can be introduced into our bodies via glass of water that is covered by a piece of paper matching the color we want to introduce into our body. Leave such glass of water in the sun for an hour or two.
In order to achieve harmony and attract desirable energy, it is generally advisable to surround yourself with the color you need at that moment.
Wear clothes of that color, and fill your living areas with plants and objects inthose colors.
Forget colorful pills, replace them with rich colors! All you need is to paint your thoughts and your world with the colors of your choice!
